Barbados, West Indies, November 13, 2000 -
Digital Rez International (DRI), today announced the purchase of Expedia's Property Management software, Avail 5.01, Avail 5.02, Avail 5.5, and AvailLink, the software originally used by VacationSpot.com to help vacation rental properties manage and sell their inventory. Digital Rez International and Expedia will offer the current Avail client base the opportunity to update the programs with ROS2000, a comprehensive reservation/property management system that handles multiple venues, such as golf courses and condominiums, as well as the more traditional resort/hotel application. "The purchase of the Avail product from Expedia and the update of the customer base to the ROS2000 product gives Digital Rez the opportunity to establish ROS2000 as a true leader in the accommodation marketplace and to expose thousands of new customers to the benefits of our high service standards", says Ken Lahoda, CEO of Digital Rez International. DRI plans to phase out the Avail products after all long-term service contracts are satisfied.
